Left Hand Finger placement

One of the most important things tat any beginning guitarist or bassist must know and understand is the proper placement of the fingers on the string. Think of it like a tight-rope walker walking on a tight rope at a high elevation. They don't approach it at an angle do they? NO! They have to be squarely planted on the tight rope! The same thing holds true for playing guitar - the fingers must be squarely planted on the string without being at too much of an angle.
